We
hunt in the Selway Wilderness Area. (unit17), home of the
largest elk herd in the U.S.A., outside of Yellowstone Park. Idaho leads the
nation in bull-cow ratio. Our clients fly
in to the Selway from either Missoula, MT. or Salmon, ID.
From there we pack to our high camp for our early bugle hunt with the season starting
Sept. 15 through Oct. 7th. It is a 5 hour
horse ride to camp, elevation 7000 ft. We
hunt four hunters, seven days, two per guide. This hunt includes one day to
and from camp. For this hunt you fly out of the Selway on day nine. We have a
camp on the river for our late hunts , with the season starting Nov. 1st
through Nov. 18th, elevation 2400 ft. With these hunts
you will be riding horses four to five hours a day. Horses are used to eliminate
as much foot work as possible. Anybody who gets out and works has the chance to
go home with the trophy he or she came after. It is very important to
be in top physical condition for these hunts. Hunt elk first, then
you can hunt for your deer and bear. We hunt both Mule deer and Whitetail deer.
The price of this hunt is $4500.00 per person or $5500.00 private treaty. This price includes elk, deer
and bear. There is a 6% Sales Tax and 3% Use Fee to the USDA.
The 3% is included in the price of the hunt.
SPECIAL LATE SEASON DEER HUNT November 12th-18th, 2009. Hunt the big bucks during the rut. White tail or Mule deer; two deer area. $3500. Now Includes Combination Wolf Hunt.
LION HUNT
This Wilderness hunt starts Nov. 1st through March 31st.
We use horses on our November hunts. After
November we fly into our area from Salmon, ID or Hamilton, MT. Following the hounds on a race can be very exciting and very
rugged , so good physical condition makes your hunt more
enjoyable. Our success rate is 100%. Hounds are used to chase and tree the
lion. You are not required to take any lion treed. It is totally up to you which
lion you select. The hounds are well trained and a thrill to hunt with. A lion
hunt in the Selway is guaranteed to produce long lasting memories you will
cherish for a long time. This is an ideal hunt for archery, handguns or rifle and
make sure you bring a camera along. The price of this hunt is $4000.00
per person, plus 6% Sales Tax. The wilderness
experience is a very special one and the safety of our clients is one of our
major concerns. We have radios in our camp that allows us to reach the outside.
WE SUGGEST YOU BRING ammunition, leather and rubber boots, plenty of socks, camp slippers, 2-way radios, a couple changes of clothing, rain gear, flashlight, spare bulb, batteries, camera, film, sleeping bag, towel, washcloth, a good heavy meat bag, 2 dry bags, one for your sleeping bag, one for your clothes. An army type duffel works great for your luggage. Limit luggage to 50lbs. plus sleeping bag and rifle. We furnish food and drink. If there is anything special that you would like to bring, please feel free to do so. We do not furnish Alcoholic beverages or pop, nor do we have ice for your drinks. Canned goods can be chilled in a nearby stream.
